Once you have a better idea of what you’re keeping, it’s helpful to create an inventory and label your boxes accordingly. We can provide you with boxes and supplies as well. Starting with storage rooms and or closets is a great first step. Consider packing room by room and starting with the items you use least frequently, such as seasonal decorations like Christmas trees, Halloween decorations, or extra linens.
Make sure to have plenty of packing materials on hand, such as boxes, bubble wrap, packing paper, and tape. And don’t forget to keep important documents and valuables separate and easily accessible during the move. Sometimes these items are best taken in your car or truck with you. With a little planning and organization, packing for a move can be much less overwhelming.
What do Professional Movers Pack First?
When we start a packing job our team will split up and start in different places. We will have 1-2 people in the kitchen, then the living room and so on. We usually try to go where there is the most work and go from room to room in that order. If we are moving you the same day we like to get the dressers prepared as well since they would be some of the first items to load onto the truck.
